About La Jolla IVF
La Jolla IVF is a globally recognized fertility center located in the heart of La Jolla, San Diego. Founded and led by Dr. David B. Smotrich, the clinic has built an extraordinary track record over more than 25 years, completing over 10,000 surrogacy cycles, 8,000 donor egg cycles, and 7,000 combined surrogacy/donor egg cycles. Patients from over 103 countries have traveled to La Jolla IVF to build their families.
What truly sets La Jolla IVF apart is its unwavering commitment to every patient. Unlike clinics that turn away "poor prognosis" cases to protect their published success rates, La Jolla IVF believes that everyone who wants a family deserves expert support — no matter the challenge. The clinic's philosophy is to do everything possible to help each patient achieve their dream, combining multiple treatment modalities and tailoring protocols to individual needs.
La Jolla IVF's state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped with the RI Witness system, which uses RFID (radio-frequency identification) technology to track and monitor every step of the IVF process — ensuring zero mix-ups and the highest level of safety. The clinic also provides comprehensive third-party reproduction coordination, helping intended parents connect with egg donors and leading surrogacy agencies, and managing the medical and fertility needs of intended parents, donors, and surrogates under one roof.
